About Us

The Foxglove Company is the collaborative effort of two women, Jan Shapero and Alyssa Ness. We are mother and daughter who share a passion for gracious, inviting interiors and fine art and antiques.

Jan began designing and collecting some thirty years ago. She created interiors layered with beautiful furnishings, fine antiques and above all warmth. In doing so, she inspired her daughter to begin collecting and designing.

We thoroughly enjoy collaborating on each and every project. We believe each room should evolve to reflect the personalities of those that gather there, not the designer.

Through the years we have enjoyed traveling through Europe together and educating ourselves on the evolution of classic interior design. We are continually inspired by the warmth and graciousness that has always been the hallmark of the English country home. We draw many ideas from the charm of country French design and the drama and splendor of Eighteenth and Nineteenth century French and Italian design and architecture.

The living space is a culmination of many elements. We work with only the finest in the art of decorative painting, upholstery and curtain fabrication. The beauty is in the details and the quality is what will endure.

Where we dwell, where we choose to "hang our hats" - this is the space where our memories are made, from our most intimate family gathering to the welcoming of others, giving them a window into who we are.

We hope our pictures inspire you and that your home will be a warm, timeless place for your family to enjoy for many years to come.
